To ensure that your eyeglasses will fit you like a custom suit, four basic frame measurements must be taken into account. The first, eye size, refers to the horizontal width of one of the frame’s lenses. The next, bridge size, measures the distance between the two lenses at their closest point. Temple size is measured from one end of the temple to the other (including the bend). And, finally, there is vertical size, which is a measurement of the lens’ vertical height. This measurement is particularly important when ordering multifocal lenses. Unless new eyeglass frames are selected in accordance with these measurements, they will be uncomfortable and ineffective. Ask anyone whose frames slip down his or her nose.  Eyeglass frames must fit properly on the bridge of your nose and stay in place whether you are looking up, down, or sideways. Lifestyle factors must be carefully taken into consideration when selecting eyeglass frames
