HOW YOUR GLASSES REFLECT ON YOUR IMAGE

One of the most popular options among people being fitted with new eyeglass lenses is the “anti-reflective” (AR) coating. Unlike untreated lenses that reflect light off of two surfaces, lenses with an AR display have minimal reflection, which significantly boosts viewing comfort. Aside from increasing the amount of light that passes through to the eyes, an AR coating also makes eyeglass lenses nearly disappear in the eyes of onlookers. As a result, people can see the eyes of those wearing AR-coated lenses more clearly. It also eliminates the necessity of removing glasses before having a picture taken. Moreover, AR coatings help in the office by working to eliminate glare from overhead fluorescent lights and some computer screens. An AR coating is especially beneficial for wearers of high-index lenses, which reflect more light than regular plastic lenses. Eyewear styles and lens treatments have changed dramatically over the past few years, giving people a wide range of options to see clearly despite glare from light or computer screens.
